Go Canada go!

We are so excited that the winter Olympics are finally here.  Here are some of the things we have been doing in class to show our excitment for SOCHI.

Sorry it's sideways!  Here are some of our own Olympic mascots.  Students choose animals and then wrote about why their animal would make a great Olympic mascot.  They did an amazing job!  They integrated which character traits their mascot had.  They are wonderful!

Here is our classroom door that we decorated for the contest.  We were given South Korea.  I think they did a wonderful job.
Here is our Current events corner in our classroom.  Of course it is filled with Olympic information!
Here is the bulletin board right outside our room.  The mascots looked amazing!

Valentine's Day and Dance-a-thon

With my new laptop finally here I can update this blog finally!  Here are some pictures from our very exciting Friday the 14th.  We had so much fun dancing, handing out Valentine's, eating sundaes and yes, more dancing!!

Swing your partner!

This was for our Valentine gifts to our parents.  They turned out so well.  You can see a picture of the final project down a bit.
Treat table ready to go for the sundae party.  Thank you to all of the parents that brought in toppings!
Here is a bulletin board from outside our room.  We had some creative writing time to create our own Valentine stories.

First week of 2013 in pictures!

Happy New Year everyone! Here are some pictures from our first week back! You will see the class participating in desk Pilates, and dinosaur stomping! We read the True Story of Balto and learned how to answer questions about the text. In art, the grade 3's made first nation turtles and the grade 2's made winter landscapes! We also made new learning goals and began our data management unit.
